Penultimate Pew News
Next week’s pewsheet will be full of thank-yous, so let me dedicate this, my penultimate pewsheet, to my hopes and prayers for this community.
May you find God in this place. May you experience the deep peace, the holy discomfort, the inexpressible joy, the beauty and wisdom and love of God here. May you connect with the divine through the beauty of architecture, and the encouragement of parishioners, and the arresting weight of scripture, and the rhythm of the liturgy, and the majesty of the music, and in the connections with others both known and unknown.
May you find here enough encouragement to nourish your journey, and enough challenge to lead you ever deeper into trusting God. May you have the discipline and joy of private times with God that open up a broader picture of yourself and your God than you thought possible.
May you love Jesus, and keep the main thing the main thing. May you continue to integrate faith and life, taking the command to go to love and serve the Lord spoken at the end of the service seriously.
