God’s Sanctuary
A big thank you, to those of you who helped at the cleaning bee. Those of us who were unable to be there appreciate your hard work - and this got me thinking. We are all blessed to be part of the St Marks Church family. Part of belonging is giving. Our contribution may be giving through time, giving by helping doing tasks and helping others in many ways. It may be giving by volunteering our names to go on one of the many rosters, giving by contributing financially but also just as importantly through our worship, prayer and just being present. Here at St Marks there is a strong community and I thank you for all that you give that allows us to be an active, vibrant prayerful “giving” community of faith.
This Sunday we look to Psalm 15. In the Bible I use it is a psalm that comes with the heading “Who shall abide in God’s Sanctuary?” Verse 2 begins the answer with “Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right”. As we all fall short, we take our comfort from the fact that by the grace of God we are incorporated into Christ. It is in this union with Christ who is uncorrupt that we are able to go where Christ goes. It is through Christ, in his name, that we share in all the benefits of his death and resurrection and God’s sanctuary is opened for us.
God bless you
From the Vicar
All that makes us thrive, young and old, is within the great sweep of God’s love for all creation, which is the pulsing movement of God’s Spirit that makes its way by touching people, at particular times and in particular places.

Living as a follower of Jesus is not easy but we follow a God who cannot fail to love us. If we accept this, then we accept that we are called to join God in loving others.

Despite the persecution he faced, Stephen remained steadfast in his faith. He did not back down or compromise his beliefs, but instead, he boldly proclaimed the truth of the gospel. His staunch devotion to God ultimately led to his martyrdom, as he was stoned to death for his faith.
