God’s will for Humanity
One of the blessings that I have being here at St Mark’s is the time I get to spend with the children and staff of St Mark’s School. This Sunday it is wonderful that Waka Mokihi is with us and we worship together. Together as one, no matter who we are, or what age we are, we gather to give our praises to our forgiving, loving God. Together offer ourselves to do the work of Jesus in all we do.
Scripture constantly asserts that God’s will for all of humanity is the same across time. God’s will from the beginning is for abundance. Abundance of good things from the earth, and the abundance of humanity itself in filling the earth and populating its history and making it the dwelling place of the Creator. God embraces our needs as embodied beings. God looks to our well-being physically, for home and family and flourishing community, not separated from our spiritual needs. All that makes us thrive, young and old, is within the great sweep of God’s love for all creation, which is the pulsing movement of God’s Spirit that makes its way by touching people, at particular times and in particular places.
It is in God’s blessings that we give thanks for the unique reality of our homes and families today, and our deepest hopes and love for them.
God bless you

It is through Christ, in his name, that we share in all the benefits of his death and resurrection and God’s sanctuary is opened for us.
Living as a follower of Jesus is not easy but we follow a God who cannot fail to love us. If we accept this, then we accept that we are called to join God in loving others.

Despite the persecution he faced, Stephen remained steadfast in his faith. He did not back down or compromise his beliefs, but instead, he boldly proclaimed the truth of the gospel. His staunch devotion to God ultimately led to his martyrdom, as he was stoned to death for his faith.
